" Black thread, Images from Northern Sweden
A new exhibition addressing the situation of the Sami, Sweden´s indigenous people. Artist Linda Lasson´s work tells the stories of an exploited Northland and a displaced indigenous population, through art works that are archetypal contemporary poetry expressed in embroidery.
The threads resemble drawings, and the graphic feel, mixed with the textile structure, gives a sculptural aesthetic.
Natural looking works pair with political messages, the art ask us the big and important question which need to be answered in the western world: is it us or the nature that need protection from our way of living?"
Utställningshallen som var ganska svårhängd eftersom den även används till möten oh då hade saker på väggarna som inte gick att ta bort som en TV och en White board. Lamporna i taket var även svåra att rikta. Men till slut blev det en lien utställning med 12 verk.
